About Seoul

Seoul is the capital city of the nation of South Korea. Not just it is the largest city of the country but is also one of the financial and cultural epicenters of East Asia. Seoul is a fine blend of ancient traditions and the modern digital technology. While the nightlife of the city is lively as day, the Buddhist temples of Seoul are a source of spirituality and serenity.

The local food on the street is a delight to the tongue of visitors and the architecture is awe-inspiring to the eyes. The city is also the center of politics and economics in South Korea. With a high population of 11.8 million people in the city, Seoul owns the spot of World’s second largest urban cluster (the first is Tokyo).

Seoul is one of the most organized capitals of the world. It covers an area of about 600 square kilo meters. The city is located on the land of magnificent history. The Yellow sea is 40 km to the west of the city and 60 km to the South of Korean Demilitarized Zone. Han River divides the city into two parts making Northern part and the Southern part of Seoul. The Northern district of the region is known by name Gangbuk and the Southern part by the name Gangnam.

To get into the city, you can take direct flights to the Incheon International Airport. It is located on the Yeongjong Island from where the local transport connects it to the city center. Most of the domestic flights are handled by the Gimpo Airport of Seoul.

If you live in South Korea, trains can take you to the city of Seoul. Aside from this, you can also take public bus to reach Seoul from the neighboring regions of the city. Boats are also an available option to reach Seoul not only from the neighboring cities but from neighboring countries as well. While moving inside the city, traffic jam can be a real problem. It is advised to travel via subway if possible. On road, buses and taxi are your available forms of transport aside from bicycle and walking on foot.

The places to see in Seoul consist of the majestic palaces immersed in the fabric of rich historical and cultural importance. The temples and shrines are also great to see if you have a thing for serene and calm places. Parks are also good to have a relaxing evening. You can let go of your worries and feel the touch of natural ambiance over your face, body and soul. Talking about the views offered by nature, the mountains of the region are great to witness them. You can also go for hiking here if you like adventurous sports.

There is so much to do in Seoul including sight-seeing, gambling, skiing, mountain biking, trip to amusement park, enjoying performing arts and taking a soothing massage at a spa.

Dining: The local street food is almost everywhere in Seoul. No matter where you go, you cannot escape the smell and view of delicious food. You will find dishes of not only Korea but also western countries as well. Chinese, Japanese, and Italian restaurants can be seen around the place.

Stay Safe: Seoul is referred as a safe city despite its size. Violent crimes are almost non-existent and petty theft and pick pocketing is also not common. The laws here are a little different so do not indulge in a fight even if someone else is trying to start it.
