About Prague

Prague is the capital city of the Czech Republic. It is not just the largest city of the country but also one of the largest cities of the Central Europe. The medieval architecture of the city is quite famous throughout the world. The city has deep historical ties which mark its association with the Bohemia. Prague has served as the capital for the infamous Bohemia region of past for more than a century. No wonder the historical centre of Prague has been included in the World Heritage List.

The city is like a live example of medieval times. The structural design of the monuments not only speaks of the magnificence of the past but also portray that time in front of the eyes. The cathedrals, church domes, bridges, gold tipped towers, walled courtyards, cobbled lanes etc. make up a scene worth staring for hours. To get into the city, you can take flight to the Vaclav Havel Airport of Prague. Buses, rental cars and taxis connect the airport with the city centre. You can also reach Prague via train, bus, and car if you live in one of the neighboring regions of the city.

The public transport of the city is very effective and easy to use. Metro, Bus, Tram and Ferries make up the public transport fleet of the region. You can also walk to certain locations and alternatively take a taxi to reach your destination. There are also boats available down the Vltava River. You can also go for a sightseeing cruise.

There is so much to see in the beautiful city of Prague. As mentioned earlier, the historical monuments of the city are scattered everywhere which make up for a good sightseeing opportunity throughout the whole region. The museums of the area are also great to see the ancient artifacts and things of cultural importance.

Dining: The restaurants of the Prague specialize in Pork and Chicken dishes. Dumplings, fries and other potato dishes are also quite good. The Czech deserts mainly consist of the fruit dumplings, ice cream and crepes.

Stay Safe: The cases of car theft and pick pocketing are common in Prague. The violent crime rate is also high. It is also advised to not provoke the drunken people. Keep an eye on your belongings in the public places. Do not put your wallet in the back pocket of your jeans or trousers.
