Krabi town is the capital of the Krabi province in the Southern Thailand. While the most part of Thailand is crowded and known for hush and rush, Krabi is a calm and pleasant place where you can let go of your worries after spending one or two nights.
Pronounced as ‘Grabee’, the town is known for its natural sceneries. Khao Kanab Nam has reputation as the symbol of Krabi. These are two rocks on a high place which give spectacular view of the region.
The Tiger temple of the Thailand is located on top of a peak, 8 km North east to the Krabi town. It is the most famous temple of the Southern Thailand. The main attraction here is the tiger’s footprint at the top which is 1237 steps high from the bottom. The top view of the temple is worth the effort.
Wat Kaew might be your favorite tourist destination in Krabi. It is one of the main temples of the town. The architecture of the temple is really an eye candy. You can also go for the Contemporary art museum of Krabi which is just opposite to Wat Kaew.
The massage and spa of the town are quite popular among the tourists. They are best to loosen up and get relief from sour muscles. There are also numerous yoga studios. You can also go to the hot springs in the town which are very sought after.
Dining: There are a number of cheap food stalls which serve good food. You can eat at the restaurants but it is wise to eat where you see a number of locals eating so that you can get value for money. There are also night street eats in the area. A number of restaurants also offer good food at reasonable prices. The floating restaurant near the police station of Krabi is a real delight for both tongue and eyes.
Respect: The temples and shrines of Krabi need to be respected and you must follow the rules they have set up to preserve their culture and heritage.
