About Broome

Australia is an island nation famous for its great white sand beaches and on the big country’s North Western coast lies a jewel of a beach town called Broome. It is a well developed tourist destination with a small local population. The highlight of Broome is its historic sandy Cable beach which got its name from an old cable line which went from Broome till Singapore. The town witnesses heavy tourist rush during the dry season with a majority of the flock consisting of Australians.

Broome is a wonderful location situated in the Kimberley region of the Western Australia. It is filled with magnificent sceneries and exotic locations. It is a historical pearling town. Around the eight decade of the nineteenth century, people started harvesting the oysters for the pearls. What started as a humble beginning is now a major cultured pearl farming enterprises.

One of the major attractions of the place is its beaches. Out of all, the Cable beach, in particular is the most famous one. The golden sand of the beach makes the whole panorama a view from fairy tale. As the waves from Indian Ocean move forward to kiss the heavenly sand you will find yourself doing nothing but just staring at this summit. As the waves recede back, they leave their mark in the form of dampness at the shore.

The sunset at this beach is another story which needs a whole book to describe its charisma and wonders. Camel riding at this beach can also be fun.

Aside from beaches there are tons of other things to see like China town- the central business district of Broome, Pearl Lugers, The Wharf, Gantheaume Point- where lies the exotic vista of red cliffs and blue water, Crocodile farm and Sun Pictures.

Broome has four main beaches all of which offer breathtaking views of the vast Indian Ocean and are rated among some of the best beaches in the world. One can enjoy the views by taking camel rides along the white sand shores. Interestingly enough, this small sea facing town also has a China town. Fancy a walk among the dinosaurs? Or more specifically, if you wish to follow the footsteps of dinosaurs, Broome is the place to be! When the tides are low, one can see the fossilised foot prints of the extinct reptiles which vanished from the face of Earth millions of years ago.

Speaking of old, the fascinating town also boasts of having Sun Pictures, the oldest functional Open Air Cinema in the world. For the wealthy tourists wanting to lighten their pockets, Broome offers dazzling pearls which can be bought from the various upmarket shops of the town.
