One of the most beautiful virgin places in the world, Hunza valley is surrounded by China to north-east and Pamir to the north-west. A former princely state, Hunza was dissolved by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in 1974.
Hunza valley is at an elevation of 2438 metres and the tourist season is from May to October.
Divided into three regions, Hunza valley comprises of Upper, Centre and Lower Hunza.
Upper Hunza (Gojal) is a beautiful valley and is a multilingual region including Burushaski, Wakhi and Domki.
Remember the image of Karakoram Highway we shared on our facebook page a few days back? KKH passes through this region only.
Centre Hunza was the administration house of the valley over the years. It can be considered to be the capital of the Hunza and Nagar and is home to many beautiful villages. The bilingual region with Burushaski and Domki with former in the majority, it adds to the beauty of the valley.
Lower Hunza can be thought of as a sub-region of Hunza. This is the region of the migrants and shina language speakers are the dominants of the place. Rich in culture, lower Hunza celebrates festivals of Novroz, Ginani and Salgirahs.
The sole reason for us to cover this beautiful valley can be seen with respect to the images which convey the beauty of this amazing place. A natural wonder and least explored, the Hunza valley shall be seen as a potential tourist destination and a spot for the nature lovers.
