Flavours of Kashmir
Kashmir valley is famous for its scenic beauty. Nonetheless, the region is always popular for its aromatic dishes. Here are a few of those delicacies.

If there is a heaven somewhere on earth, it is the land of Kashmir. If it is the joy for the lovers of nature, it is also a sheer delight for the food lovers. Kashmiri cuisines are renowned all over the world for their delicacy and their ability to quench the thirst of any food enthusiast. Here are a few cuisines from Kashmir I have combined for you all!
1) Dum Aloo
One of the vegetarians pleasure, Dum Aloo is an easy and greatly satisfying dish for any foodie! To prepare this, first of all, the potatoes are fried golden in refined oil. Now, they are mixed with the yogurt and spices to produce an amazing red curry. The aroma of the food is enough to stimulate your senses!
2) Paneer Chaman
An indigenous traditional dish of the valley, paneer chaman is a dream come true if food is your first love! Every paneer lover's joy, its preparation is as easy as ABC. All you are required to do is take the cheese rich in the cottage and a seasoning of brown and green cardamom sprinkled over it. Now, cook this mixture in milk till it is rich brown in color and tender in the odor.
3) Rogan Josh
If you are well tuned with non-vegetarian food and lamb is your favorite, cheer up! A lamb dish of out-of-the-world aroma, Rogan Josh is just what you need to look for being in Kashmir. Best part? It is low on fats and considered to be healthy. Flavoured with the brown onions, different spices and the taste of the yoghurt it is served hot with rice naan. This is something you must not be missing out at all if you are in the valley!
4) Kashmiri Muji Gaad
Kashmiri Muji Gaad is a delicacy with fish as in its prime position. Prepared with a radish or the nadur, this can be seen as an amazing combination of the veg and non-veg taste. On a hand fish lends the vegetarian aroma while the lotus stem is batting for the vegetarian heat. If this amalgamation gives it a unique taste, the herbs and the spices are adding to the taste of the flavour. This dish is mostly prepared at the time of the 'Gaada Bata' festival which is celebrated in December.
5) Thukpa
Popular in the Leh region of the valley, Thukpa is renowned in many parts of India. Thukpa is one of the best cures against the winters. It is a vegetable soup served with thick noodles. Needless to say that if you are noodles lover who is fond of soup, it is a win-win food item for you! It is said that Thukpa is widely known in Kashmir but it originated from the Tibet. But hey! Who cares about the origin as long as your taste buds are taken care of!
Summing up, these are not the only dishes which make Kashmir a foodie's delight. You can consider them to the drops of water in an ocean! Mark Kashmir as your next holiday destination and make the most of the trip as you enjoy the scenic beauty and the amazing food.
