Pochishey Boishakh is a day synonymous with every Bengali.
It is the birthday of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Celebrated usually on the 8th or 9th of May (on the 25th day of the Bengali month Boishakh), it is one of the most important festival for the people of Bengal. Schools, colleges, universities, television channels and FM channels pay tribute to this legend through cultural activities and poetry recitation.
